Protestors in Portland damage ICE building and Democratic Party headquarters

On Wednesday night, about 150 protestors caused damage to a federal immigration facility in Portland. In Portland, federal police had to use tear gas to disperse protesters.During the violent riots Antifa and anarchists carried signs that read "We don't want Biden- WE WANT REVENGE! FOR POLICE MURDERS, IMPERIALIST WARS AND FASCIST MASSACRES." and "WE ARE UNGOVERNABLE" adorned with Anarchist and Antifa symbology.
On Wednesday, protests started in Portland just hours after Biden's inauguration.
At least eight arrests were made with charges including Criminal Mischief I, Criminal Mischief II, Interfering with a Peace Officer, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct II, Possession of a Destructive Device, Reckless Burning and Riot. These things considered the characterization of these people as "protestors" is problematic, the more accurate description is "violent rioters".
After the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, the ICE building has been the site of several protests.
ICE continued to ramp up its efforts under the Trump administration. They conducted raids often and sometimes left hundreds of children without parents, they have often locked up hard-working immigrants without warning and in harsh conditions. Calls for reform have grown louder but little has been done by Washington. This in spite of Trump's moves in July toward merit-based immigration when the Whitehouse stated "The President has long said he is willing to work with Congress on a negotiated legislative solution to DACA, one that could include citizenship, along with strong border security and permanent merit-based reforms. This does not include amnesty." "DACA could have been taken care of two years ago, but the Democrats broke the deal "However, it has been revealed that while the Trump administration said that publicly, they were purposely pulling apart families at the border in an attempt to scare away others from fleeing for America. And one of the White House’s lead architect of the immigration policies was Stephen Miller, no friend to immigrants. These are not the actions of an administration truly looking out for those attempting to seek refuge.
Demonstrators have long been asking for the abolition of ICE.
ICE has been controversial under both Democratic and Republican presidents. The agency, which was started after 9/11, has come under fire for separating immigrant families and detaining people unlawfully. Many people see it as a personification of the evils of America’s immigration policies. While some on the left have called for abolishing or restricting ICE, President Biden hasn’t disclosed any plan to do so.
Protest was seen in other cities as well on Inauguration Day.
As per the reports, in Seattle, the protest was against President Biden and law enforcement, and protestors carried a sign reading, "Abolish ICE".
In Denver, protesters burned an American flag and shouted anti-Trump and anti-Biden slogans.

The Epoch Times reports, "In Seattle, Antifa activists marched into the iconic Pike Place Market to smash up property, with video from the scene showing broken windows in a Starbucks. A group of black-clad activists marched along the street, kicking over garbage containers, carrying a tattered American flag with the anarchy sign spray-painted on it." The William Kenzo Nakamura Courthouse, a federal building was spray-painted with Anarchist symbols and had its' windows smashed in according to local affiliate KOMO. The New York times reported one banner the group marched under read "No Cops, Prisons, Borders, Presidents". According to Seattle PD's Twitter, at least 1 arrest has been made. However, while many of the things protestors were doing are illegal, burning an American flag is protected free speech and didn’t break any laws.
In Sacramento, several Antifa members were reported wielding clubs and shields and were seen marching through the streets.
They were chanting slogans denouncing Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Also, earlier on Wednesday, Antifa demonstrators smashed the windows of the Democratic Party headquarters in Portland.
The protestors carried anti-Biden and anti-police signs. One of the signs read 'We don't want Biden, we want revenge!' in response to 'police murders' and 'imperialist wars'.
